Yes, a ‘Vote of Confidence’ is Always the Kiss of Death
Just about eight hours earlier, Kellyann Conway-that beacon of credibility-declared that our so-called President had ‘total confidence’ in Michael Flynn. That turned out to have as much truth value as anything else Conway says.
So in just a little over three weeks we have the first major resignation. Flynn sets a new record here, in fact, he shatters it.
Flynn's tenure as national security advisor shortest ever. Previous record held be Reagan's first NSA, Richard V. Allen, who served 348 days

He blew Richard V. Allen’s 348 day tenure out of the water.
1.6% of Trump's first term has elapsed

Everything with Trump is so accelerated.
just 3 wks in and Trump's already shifted into Nixon '73-'74 mode.

As David Frum says, this is why Trump so hates and fears the press.
Tonight’s resignation reminds both why patriots should cherish a free & independent press – and why Donald Trump so fears & hates it

Of course, this only begs questions. Who really believes that Mike Flynn acted alone?
David Gergen goes for the jugular: "How many people really think #Flynn made those Russia calls all on his own?" THAT is the question.

How long can the GOP continue to give Trump zero oversight in Congress? They are already facing huge protests and Trump’s favorability is already at 40%-where W was after Katrina.
Judging by a Politico piece about GOP Senator Bob Corker, it’s not that many of them don’t have concerns about Trump-but for now many have convinced themselves that it’s best to only try to influence him behind the scenes.
So Flynn resigns just three and a half weeks:
“Flynn resigns as national security adviser.”
