Deja Vu all Over Again: Hackers Target Macron on Eve of French Election
No doubt about it, Macron is the Great Centrist Hope for the Western world. While Trump has all but endorsed LePen, Obama has endorsed Macron. And the numbers coming in have looked very good.
Last-minute poll by Ipsos: Macron 63/37.
Net gain of 8% since Monday. Melenchon voters went from 48/14 to 55/10; Fillon's, 42/32 to 48/28. https://t.co/lhPP8YnuyC

From Jennifer Rubin’s lips to God’s ears.
“France’s Macron reveals the weakness of populist bullies.”
As she notes, the French Berners are also moral nihilists.
“If Macron wins, it will be no thanks to the far left, which seems unable to distinguish between a centrist democrat and a fascist, or unmoved by the moral imperative to preserve French democracy. (“A poll on Friday by Odoxa said a quarter of the French electorate was likely to abstain in Sunday’s vote, many of them left-wing voters disappointed after their candidates missed reaching the runoff.”)”
“For those frustrated with Americans’ inability to differentiate between, on one side, a flawed candidate who was nevertheless sane and understood American values and institutions, and Donald Trump on the other, they might acknowledge this kind of moral nihilism seems not to be a purely American phenomenon.”
“Perhaps citizens in Western democracies have become so tribalistic, so embittered against historical opponents and so infused with cynicism that they find comfort in stock, mindless phrases such as “they’re all crooks.” It defies logic to say Macron is “as bad” as Le Pen from the left’s perspective, and yet the left cannot be bothered to defend France from the National Front party. In France, moreover, some voters on the far left may feel some affinity with Le Pen (just as Sen. Bernie Sanders’s voters were more amenable to Trump than to Hillary Clinton in many areas of the country). If one is anti-capitalist, anti-free trade and anti-European Union, then both the far left and far right have appeal.”
It seems to me that a ‘populist’ is really a demagogue; and a demagogue is someone one makes things simpler than they are.
However, the same hackers that went after Hillary is also making a last minute offensive against Macron.
“The French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron has been targeted by a “massive and coordinated” hacking attack just hours before voters go to the polls, according to his campaign team.”
“Macron, who opinion polls suggest should win Sunday’s vote by 60% to his rival Marine Le Pen’s 40%, was unable to respond to the alleged attack because of a ban on electioneering in the run up to the opening of polling stations.”
“Tens of thousands of internal emails and other documents, some said to be false, were released online overnight on Friday as the midnight deadline to halt campaigning passed.”
“Macron’s En Marche! team said it was a clear attempt to destabilise the election. Faced with the “gravity of the situation” it would be taking all steps to throw light on who was behind the “unusual operation”.
“Macron announced two days ago that he was taking legal action after Le Pen made a remark implying he had an offshore bank account in the Bahamas.”
“On Saturday morning, France’s presidential electoral authority, the CNCCEP, asked the media to avoid publishing information from the leaked documents and reminded them of their responsibilities given the seriousness of the election.”
“The publishing of false information falls under the law, particularly criminal law,” it wrote.
The laws of France are clearly different in important respects. LePen is Putin’s buddy. She’s eaten with him and Russia has helped bankroll her campaign.
If-God forbid-she did win, she’s vowed to get out of NATO and the EU. Yup-this is why Macro is the Great Centrist Hope.
Judging by the numbers he should win despite the Assange like dirty tricks. Speaking of which, here is Wikileaks taking a shot at both Obama and Macron.

And here it is-the smoking gun. They’re doing the same thing again.

Oops-Wikileaks interfered on behalf of fascism again!

Macron has such a big lead-20 or more points-that this likely won’t stop him outright. He still should win. His lead was always bigger than Hillary’s.

Still, while these lies and slanders on Macron likely won’t sink him they may well be used to impugn him once in office and weaken his Presidency.
The fight between populist demagogues and the Center Left continues.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
