Trump is Spending Another Weekend at 1 of HIs Business Properties
Like Hillary warned us, when Trump wins we lose.
This was very true watching him and Paul Ryan celebrating that terrible healthcare bill like they just scored the winning TD-in truth they’re still in the first quarter.
And it’s true the way he continues to use the Presidency to line his own pockets. Ironically, during the campaign he accused Hillary of being ‘self dealing.’
But then he also said ‘healthcare for everybody’-takeaway is you shouldn’t believe a word Trump says-something the MSM still can’t bring itself to accept.
“One thing that’s tough about Trump is he commits so many possibly impeachable offenses. Seriously as he does so much that deserves a serious Congressional investigations, it’s sometimes tough to know where to start. Here is a list-not meant to be exhaustive of what a real Congress-ie, a Democratic Congress who maybe, even more post TrumpCare in the House is a real possibility-of the different things regarding Trump that need to be investigated ASAP.”
1. Russia collusion
2. Comeygate. I have for some time suspected that 2 overlaps with 1. You see some of the same players on both sides-Roger Stone, Erik Prince, etc. Now we have the knowledge that Comey based the need for his July press conference ‘Extreme carelessness’ on internal Dem emails he got from Russian hackers.
So Comey was swayed by Russian active measures. Wish I was kidding.
3. Emoluments-he is violating this not every week, or everyday, or even every hour, but, constantly.
4. Immigration raids-ICE is out of control. Reports that they feel ‘unloosed’ under Trump to deport now and worry about the federal court suits later.
5. Foreign policy: what happened to USS Carrier? The missing week. Was this total incompetence or shocking dishonesty?
Also under FP: 200 Iraqi civilians killed. Yemen disaster with dead Navy Seal. Lies about valuable intelligence from CentCom.
CentCom boasting on Trump’s behalf like they’re his Super PAC.
More generally: since Trump has been POTUS civilian casulaties of US military action are up 300%. Why is this? Has Trump given the military the order to care less about civilian casualties?
6. Tax Returns-how is is that he’s still under the world’s longest audit?
7. A hearing into the 14 women who have accused Trump of sexual assault. As many of these women who are willing to testify would be welcome.
So that’s 7 different investigations I can think of off the top of my head that Congress should be doing. Then there is the latest news about Trump speaking with Rupert Murdoch everyday. While the DOJ is investigating Fox News. Remember the furor over Bill saying hello to Loretta Lynch on an airport tarmac?
But number 3 in particular is getting very crowded. There is so much that needs to be looked at. Here’s the latest from Politico:
“Trump busting presidential norms with weekend getaways/”
“POTUS has now spent 14 straight weekends visiting his business properties.”
That’s 14 straight weeks where we have been lining his and his family’s pockets. When he wins you lose.
“Forget the occasional skeet shooting trip to Camp David or golf outing at Andrews Air Force Base. President Donald Trump has established a new normal for a commander in chief’s leisure time by spending his 14th consecutive weekend at one of his gold-plated properties.”
“With this weekend’s trip to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump will have spent eight of his 16 weekends as president away from Washington, and will have visited various Trump Inc. sites 30 different times since the inauguration.”
“The convention-busting pattern has attracted heavy criticism, with Democrats questioning Trump’s productivity during his “working weekends” and demanding answers about skyrocketing taxpayer bills for travel and security. The frequent visits to Trump’s own properties have also raised questions about whether the president is inappropriately boosting his brand.”
“And Trump doesn’t appear immune to the grief he’s getting. Hours after settling into his Bedminster resort on Thursday night, the president tried to justify yet another weekend getaway.”
“Rather than causing a big disruption in N.Y.C., I will be working out of my home in Bedminster, N.J. this weekend. Also saves country money!” the president posted on Twitter Friday morning.
“Congress conceded this week there’s little it can do to stop Trump, earmarking $61 million in the omnibus spending bill that the president signed into law on Friday to reimburse local governments in New York, South Florida, New Jersey and Northern Virginia for overtime police work while Trump has spent down-time since the election in their areas. The law also includes $23 million for the Secret Service to begin major security makeovers at Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago, Bedminster and other popular presidential properties.”
The comment that ‘There’s little Congress can do to stop Trump’ should be changed to ‘There’s little interest in the GOP Congress to do what’s necessary to stop Trump.’
There’s plenty they could do that they’re not doing.
For that we need a Dem Congress-that I am hoping to join.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
