Reports: Corey Lewandowski to Pitch in on Trump’s War Room
Wow, it’s getting good on a lot of levels now. This morning it looks like it’s starting: Trump’s WH communications director has quit after just three months on the job.
Mike Dubke has resigned as White House communications director in the first of what could be a series of changes to President Trump’s senior staff amid the growing Russia scandal.”
That’s the canary in the coal mine-that his resignation could be just the start of many changes at team Trump.
The beauty of this, is these folks can now leave and tell their story. Like Mike Flynn, surely they too have a story to tell.
Apparently many staffers soon to be ex staffers will be writing tell all books.
Definitely have a story to tell.
Well, we know that they will remain very loyal to Herr Trump even after they leave.
“And here’s Ross Douthat:
There is, as my colleague David Brooks wrote Tuesday, a basic childishness to the man who now occupies the presidency. That is the simplest way of understanding what has come tumbling into light in the last few days: The presidency now has kinglike qualities, and we have a child upon the throne. . . .
Read the things that these people, members of his inner circle, his personally selected appointees, say daily through anonymous quotations to the press. (And I assure you they say worse off the record.) They have no respect for him, indeed they seem to palpitate with contempt for him, and to regard their mission as equivalent to being stewards for a syphilitic emperor.
“I like “syphilitic emperor” much better—if only I could write like Douthat.”
So that’s the first part of this-there could be some really great tell all books about the syphilitic emperor coming soon.
Then there is the widely reported return of Corey Lewandowski.

It is ironic for Lewandowski to be brought into the war room against Russia collusion when Lewandowski has his own Russian problem.
But then again, we’re still hearing that Kushner himself is going to be in the war room-when no one has a bigger Russia problem than him.
But then that’s Trumpworld for you. It’s a very insular place.
“Dubke was the rare Trump newcomer in a White House in which personal relationships and proximity to the president is the currency. He arrived in mid-February, a few weeks into Trump’s term, and struggled to build alliances with some colleagues on the senior staff, not having worked on Trump’s campaign or his transition team.”
That’s a key point to understand Trump-he’s very much someone who prefers people with a close relationship. As Trumpworld is small and insular, no matter how much trouble someone gets in, at some point they’ll be brought back as the circle of Trump people is small.
But having Kushner who’s under FBI scrutiny, and Lewandowksi, who approved Carter Page’s trip to Russia-and was key to bringing him to Trump in the first place, are going to make it pretty hard for the war room to make Russia collusion go away.
“Hearing whispers of a possible impeachment, the White House looks to be turning to Corey Lewandowski, the once-fired campaign manager of President Donald Trump, to help the administration deal with the ever-growing Russia scandal.”
“The New York Times reported Friday that Lewandowski is expected this week to join the “war room” the White House has set up to counter the bombshell stories and damning narrative coming out of the media.”
“Lewandowski has been a free agent since the loyal Trump adviser left his lobbying firm earlier this month after it was accused of selling Lewandowski’s access to the Oval Office. Lewandowski was fired from the Trump campaign in the summer of 2016 after he assaulted a reporter trying to ask the then-presidential candidate a question.”
“The White House is clearly desperate to combat the negative coverage it has received surrounding the Russia investigation. A White House source told The Times that there is new urgency after the Justice Department appointed special council to oversee the Russia probe.”
“Lewandowski is known as a ruthless political operative who brazenly lies to defend the president.”
“Asawin Suebsaeng, a Washington-based reported for the Daily Beast, said on Twitter Saturday that Lewandowski could be the biggest liar in “Trumpian politics.”
Biggest liar in Trumpian politics. That should be a helpful skill set, you know, while Trump and company are under investigation.
It’s not like Corey Lewandowski’s odds at going to prison for perjury or obstruction of justice are sky high or anything like that.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
