Let’s Just Say it-Trump is a Russian Agent
I mean just look at his foreign policy. It’s totally coordinated with Russia. He reduces NATO to a dues paying racket. He attacks Germany, makes a big to do over a ‘trade deficit’, refuses to commit to Russian sanctions, refuses to even commit to the NATO pledge that all Presidents since Harry Truman made-an attack on one is an attack on all.
Then you have Rex Tillerson-Putin’s favorite American with the selfies to prove it-taking apart the State Dept root and branch.
Then we have Trump offering the Russians intel as if it were candy the day after he fired Comey. Add that to Jared Kushner’s talk about a back channel with Kisylak before Trump was even President and inside the Russian embassy. And what would possibly make us confident there weren’t other times Trump compromised intelligence for Russia’s benefit?
People who want to be skeptical of Trump Russia collusion cannot possibly any longer argue but what does Russia get out of it?
After the Syria bombing, for a very brief moment, the Trump apologists of the Left and Right were declaring this proof there was no Russia collusion.
But by now it’s clear that Russia has been handed over the store.
Now Trump is attacking Angela Merkel and Germany again in a way he never attacks dictators.
At this point I think it’s fair to say Trump is an unwitting Russian agent. Again don’t forget the unwitting part. Trump doesn’t necessarily think of himself as selling out his own country for Russia”s interests. But he’s been sold on the idea that ‘getting along with Russia’-on terms very favorable to Russia-are in US interests.
As for when Trump was recruited, it was likely over a period of time. Daily Kos discusses the Steele Dossier here:
“Russian regime has been cultivating, supporting and assisting Trump for at least 5 years. Aim, endorsed by Putin, has been to encourage splits and divisions in the Western alliance.”
To get into Trump’s world, it’s all about personal relationships and closeness with him-that’s the currency. The Russians over a period of time were able to build it. Prior to the last five years of intensified cultivation-as Trump had become a major US political figure-there had been many more years of cultivation over time.
Prior to when Trump got into US politics-via the birther door-his relationship with major Russian figures-oligarchs and mobsters; in Russia the two are always related. Going back at least to 2000-though it started in the 1990s after his failed Atlantic City venture and further intensified after the 2008 financial crash-Trump had to depend on Russian loans and Russian credit as no American bank would lend him money anymore.
Then you have Trump’s relationship with notorious Russian mobster, Felix Sater-itself the business associations Trump has had with Sater could be a crime, and Trump sure gets sore when you ask him about Sater.
Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, is in the news again as a target of Congress, and recall that the infamous ‘peace plan’-that was actually a huge giveaway to Russia who would get to ‘lease’ Crimea for the next 50-100 years-that Cohen hand delivered to Michael Flynn had come from: Felix Sater.
Overall, then, the Trump-Russia relationship, which begun in the Soviet era, but really intensified after Trump’s financial times and when US banks stopped lending to him, has been cultivated over the long haul.
Remember when Trump’s kids went to Moscow in 2008 with-once again, Felix Sater. This is a mobster who was guilty of at least one felony but then avoided it by becoming an FBI informant.
And of course, Eric Trump talked about how much money they have in Russia.
What changed in 2011 then as Trump’s birtherism launched him into American politics, was simply he became a political figure and this added a dimension to an already close and mutually beneficial relationship for Trump and his family on one side, and Russia on the other.
So what happened in terms of coordination in 2016, was just a natural progression for a long time relationship that had grown as Trump got into politics.
Again, my guess is unwitting. He doesn’t know it or think about it that way. This is how many recruits are. I always refer to Brody in that great show about the CIA and the war on terrorism-starting Claire Daines.
Brody was a Marine who was a POW of Al Qaeda for four years. When he came back to the US, he didn’t believe he was a terrorist agent, wasn’t consciously aware. But what you saw was he had a kind of split personality.
It’s like Cybil. He remained in many ways the same old all American boy, the patriotic Marine, Brody. But within his body, Brody now had a roommate-call him Jihadi Brody. And he didn’t learn about Jihadi Brody until it was too late.
What is interesting is that Brody’s rather overly euphoric smile after he came back reminds me of Carter Page who absolutely acts like a recruit.
But my theory is so is Trump and this cultivation happened over many years not all at once on one time and place.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
