Hillary Clinton on Presidential Run: Exhilarating but Infuriating
Her book is coming out on September 12 and I for one can’t wait. I’ve already pre-ordered. If you want to too just please pre order it off of this link as I’m an Amazon Affiliate.
That’s the name of her book-What Happened-and it’s a very good question to be sure. Morning Joe put out a few excepts this morning:
“Hillary Clinton writes in her new book that Donald Trump’s attempts to “intimidate” her during the presidential debates made her “skin crawl” and she wanted to tell him to “back up, you creep.”
“What would you do? Do you stay calm, keep smiling and carry on as if he weren’t repeatedly invading your space?” the former Democratic nominee asks in “What Happened,” excerpts of which were released by MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” early Wednesday.
“Or do you turn, look him in the eye and say loudly and clearly ‘Back up, you creep. Get away from me. I know you love to intimidate women, but you can’t intimidate me, so back up.’ ”
She calls her experience running for president “humbling,” “exhilarating” and “infuriating.”
“Every day I was a candidate for president, I knew that millions of people were counting on me. And I couldn’t bear the idea of letting them down,” she writes. “But I did. I couldn’t get the job done. And I’ll have to live with that for the rest of my life.”
I agree with Claude Taylor:
Hillary is being unfair to herself. Was she a perfect candidate? No. But Trump cheated with assist of a years long Russian intel operation.

But Claude leaves out the Comey letter. Democrats are sort of torn on their frenemy, James Comey. Yes he was the one we needed to really investigate Russia. But we wouldn’t be in this mess at all without his indefensible October 28 intervention.
“In the nine months since the election, political observers have pointed to various reasons why Hillary Clinton lost and Donald Trump won: FBI Director James Comey’s intervention; Russia and WikiLeaks; Clinton’s failure to campaign in Wisconsin; African-Americans who didn’t turn out as strongly as they did for Obama; and Trump’s strong performance among working-class white voters in the Rust Belt.”
“But the real tale of 2016 is how the final 12 days of the election turned a race that seemed out of reach on Oct. 27 into an upset decided by a total of 80,000 votes in three states. To tell that story, NBC News interviewed nearly a dozen top Clinton and Trump operatives for their insight and perspective. Both sides agreed that the underlying volatility of the race, combined with the way the final days unfolded, produced a most unexpected result.”
Gee what precipitated those final 12 days? The Comey letter.
Strikingly, Comey’s announcement was vague.
“Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony,” Comey said in his letter.
The very vagueness seemed to damage her more. As there were no specifics they could be filled in with anything-this was very typical of Clinton scandals going back to Whitewater by the way.
As Nate Silver says, the election probably cost her the election.
“The Comey Letter Probably Cost Clinton The Election.”
“So why won’t the media admit as much?”
That’s the question though the answer is obvious. Because it implicates the media itself.
Back to NBC. This was what Trump said after the Comey letter:
“If she were to win this election, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. In that situation, we could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment and ultimately a criminal trial,” he said the next day in Nevada.
“That became Trump’s closing argument — Watergate, endless investigations, criminal activities and an inability to govern.”
The media, of course, let him get away with that argument. And yet:
“Of course, what voters didn’t know until after the election: The FBI, for months, had been investigating the Trump campaign’s ties with Russia.”
Of course-because-unlike the emails, the media chose to say nothing about. Don’t give me that ‘they didn’t know line’-they knew. It was known-I knew about it. After Trump’s ‘Russia if you’re listening..’ press conference in July. 2016-by the way, the last presser he’d give during the campaign-it was known the FBI was investigating him.
They didn’t take that as a ‘ joke.’
But the MSM didn’t see that as important. Really, Saturday Night Live called this election the Saturday before November 8.
But what about your emails, Secretary Clinton?
These words sum up the MSM 2016 and with these words they stand condemned.
With all the talk of HRC taking responsibility would but the MSM would.
The blew up a minor email scandal into the crime of the century and now that Trump has been illegitimately elected they admit that he may have committed the crime of the century-there are multiple investigations.
It’s very simple: MSM malpractice.
