Harvard Study: For Every Story Covering Clinton’s Issues 5 Were About Her Emails
Note to our followers/readers: posts from Aug 25-29 were lost by GoDaddy in changing servers to a higher capacity.
This seems to be a danger when you switch servers-you lose some older stuff you’d posted. So everything between August 25-29 has unfortunately been lost. I demanded a refund and the best they could come up with was adding $180 dollars to my agreement with then; ie, in 2021 I’ll get six more months.
That makes up for the loss of 27 posts that hundreds or thousands were reading? Whateves.
Anyway-Hillary Derangement Syndrome. It’s a pretty undeniable fact-though much of the MSM continues to deny it: their coverage was terrible and contributed significantly to her loss. The Comey letter itself was the difference: no Comey letter and she wins. It’s just that simple. Nate Silver:
“The Comey Letter Probably Cost Clinton The Election.”
“So why won’t the media admit as much?”
Why? Because doing so implicates them. They were who so weaponized a minor email scandal to the genocide of the 21st century. SNL got it right the Saturday night before the election as it turned out.
By the end of the election, many people suffered from Hillary Derangement Syndrome (HDS). This is a propensity to believe the worst about Hillary no matter what the story. To believe any accusation against her no matter how baseless or outlandish.
Like Pizzagate: a vile slander that she and Bill had a pedophile ring inside a pizza parlor. Ridiculous right? Well, someone was almost killed over it as a gunman went to the pizza parlor in question and was ready to kill someone to free the alleged child victims of this fictional pedophile ring.
Where did this derangement come from? I guess you could blame the famous ‘Clinton fatigue.’ Sure, but CF wasn’t about the public but the MSM:
“Although the mainstream media stubbornly refuse to admit culpability in Trump’s election, a number of prominent journalists are on record conceding broad-based antagonism toward Clinton in the press. As far back as 2014, Chuck Todd said,I don’t think the country has Clinton fatigue. I think the media has Clinton fatigue. You can sort of feel it.”
“In the summer of 2015, Jonathan Allen described the so-called Clinton Rules: “The Clinton rules are driven by reporters’ and editors’ desire to score the ultimate prize in contemporary journalism: the scoop that brings down Hillary Clinton and her family’s political empire.” In 2016, Mark Halperin admitted that “there’s a deep well of anti-Clinton sentiment in the press.”
Note the irony: the MSM was just like Putin-they were HRC”s foe and Trump’s mouthpiece.
Over 20 months of building up a minor email scandal into the crime of the century, the MSM was able to infect decent amounts of the public to ‘Clinton Fatigue.’
To be clear, there was no CF prior to the MSM’s hatchet job-for which they worked hand and hand with Breitbart on; they even worked with them on publishing Clinton Cash.
Prior to the election, HRC’s popularity was at 64%. A good part of the Bernie Bros were won over to CDS. Some of them even started watching Fox and listening to Rush just to hear her insulted.
Post election, the Hillary haters are determined that she lost because she was somehow ‘a terrible candidate’ in ways that no other candidate who ever ran for office was. They ignore Silver’s numbers which show conclusively that the Comey letter swung this election; of course, the vague Comey letter only had this impact because the MSM had so weaponized it.
They handwave the massive levels of Russian interference which included the massive theft of voter files.
One zombie argument you here is she lost because she-unlike Trump-didn’t talk about issues(!). Yes, I’ve heard Bernie Bros make this argument. Uhhhhh:
That’s right, she was criticized for having a very detailed plan for the economy. This is the truth-it was. However, now the Hillary haters of the Left, Right, and MSM have concocted a new illusion: she lost because she didn’t talk about the economy. Like Trump who said “I’m going to fix it.’
Clearly Trump was the one with a detailed economic policy.
But then Clinton Derangement Syndrome knows no bounds. Krugman:
When I read these stories now, I can't help thinking about what passed for Clinton "scandals" doing the campaign 1/ https://t.co/gHm3ZOZAnn

You mean the scandal of where Bill helped rescue a Nobel Prize winner but someone wanted a free ticket-but didn’t get it?

I know the Trump apologists will argue Trump got the worse coverage. But the numbers here show otherwise. Trump coverage did get tougher over the campaign but it was always superficial-his racist tweets, and comments, etc. It never stayed on anything in particular beyond a few days-partly as there were so many outrages, and the coverage never got to a deeper narrative regarding Trump.
Arguably what helped Trump is no one took him seriously-he’s just an interesting sideshow, he’s not going to be President so why take him too seriously as a possible President?
There was little coverage on things like Trump U, or his ties to Russian mobsters.
Russia was the faintest blip. The numbers don’t lie:
That the FBI was investigating Trump-Russia was known since July, 2016. But the media didn’t see the need to belabor the point. The MSM further assisted Trump covering up the Steele Dossier till two months after the election.
But what about your emails, Secretary Clinton? They should put this on the MSM’s tombstone.
