Democrats Discover Good Things Happen When You Vote
Just to clarify: YES that is me in the above picture with the Mike Sax NY2 Press Secretary Kev-who’s also my brother from another mother-standing next to Hillary Clinton and, drum roll please: Ralph Northam the new Governor of Virginia.
Just in case anyone thought this was photoshoppoed or something! LOL.
In any case it’s amazing what happens when you try voting rather than saying ‘Waaaah! I’m not going to vote because my vote doesn’t matter. Waaaaah!’
Dems are winning numbers to actually pass a Medicaid expansion in VA. Good things happen when you vote.

What a discovery! Another discovery: it turns out if you vote even the NRA isn’t all powerful.
Democrat Chris Hurst, a former TV news anchor whose girlfriend was murdered on live TV in 2015, won his race for Virginia's House of Delegates on a platform to reduce gun violence.

Ralph Northam for his part has an F rating with the NRA. Last night was a terrible night for Trumpism ‘with or without Donald Trump’ but it was also not at all a good night for the NRA.
This was a total repudiation of Trump and Trumpism.
Every single Democrat targeted by these racist mailers won against their Republican challenger. https://t.co/pNisBwhYCX

And that’s reason enough to celebrate-it suggests that maybe we haven’t lost America after all. As to coalition building for the Democrats:
If I'm @TheDemocrats one takeaway from Virginia is to register as many voters of color and college educated white voters as possible before 2018, then invest in turning them out.
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) November 8, 2017
So there are some good takeaways:
1. Mobilize a coalition of color and college educated whites.
2. Vote in off year elections.
Check and check and we have a real shot at taking our country back and crushing the (in)famous thing, namely, Trumpism.
The Dem wave we saw the start of last night is so big, it’s tough to fully appreciate and take in.

“As part of a larger wave of Democratic wins on Election Day 2017, Democrats picked up two seats in special elections held for Georgia’s House of Delegates.”
“Deborah Gonzales won House District 117 with 53 percent of the vote and Jonathan Wallace won House District 119 with 56 percent of the vote. Both seats are in the Athens area and both were vacant, hence the special elections. But not only were the two seats previously held by Republican incumbents, they were uncontested in the 2016 elections.”
“Superior Democratic recruiting in these kind of races is both a cause and a consequence of a national political environment that is now Democratic leaning. It’s much easier to get people excited about running for office when the climate is favorable, so the uptick in recruiting is itself a result of Donald Trump’s unpopularity. But it’s also the case that no matter how unpopular Trump is, you can’t win elections without fielding candidates. In 2016, Democrats didn’t have candidates in these races. In 2017 they did, and they both won.”
So add number 3:
3. Actually field candidates. It’s so crazy it just might work.
Catch the Democratic wave and jump aboard the Impeachment Train With Mike Sax NY2. Now is our moment.
P.S. I’m Mike Sax, I’m running for Congress in the NY 2nd District and I’m a Hillary Clinton Democrat.
Meeting her recently was one of the biggest honors in my life to stand next to such a fine public servant and trailblazer. She seemed to like our Impeachment Train campaign t shirts too!
Think of the shirt as a one time investment in restoring legitimacy to this country.
And please donate so we can compete with Peter King’s $4 million. I know no lobbyists or millionaires like Peter King. Small donations are the engine of the Mike Sax NY2 campaign. Together we can do it. Because we must.
