A So-Called President Claims He Makes Decisions on So-Called Data
When He attacked that judge the other day he got himself in some legal hot water. Even Mitch McConnell had to criticize him and now his own SJC judicial nominee will be pushed to do the same.
Now he’s also given himself a new nickname: a so-called President. But a new tweet of his is too much. It’s veering off into comic relief. Saturday Night Live is again under his skin for portraying him as Bannon’s stooge. SNL is now must watch as guess who’s hosting next week: you guessed it, Alec Baldwin.
But this tweet by Trump is pure comic relief:
“President Donald Trump on Monday appeared to take issue with the portrayal of White House chief strategist Steve Bannon as the “shadow president,” tweeting that he, not Bannon, calls the shots “and everyone knows it.”
“The skit parodied reports of Trump’s poor statesmanship during phone calls with foreign leaders and brought to life The New York Times’ editorial board’s opinion last week — headlined “President Bannon?” — suggesting that the former Breitbart executive “is positioning himself … as the de facto president.”
“The Times also reported Sunday that Bannon is “the president’s dominant adviser, despite Mr. Trump’s anger that he was not fully briefed on details of the executive order he signed giving his chief strategist a seat on the National Security Council.”
“Nevertheless, Trump sought to correct the record Monday, casting himself via Twitter as a data-driven decision maker and accusing the media of lying “to marginalize” him.”
“I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it,” Trump said. “Some FAKE NEWS media, in order to marginalize, lies!”
Trump doesn’t listen to Bannon, he’s data driven? The accumulation of data? Now his whoopers are just funny.
You got to at least make it believable when you bullshit us.
Another Politico piece asks if Trump even wants to succeed. I assume so but does he know what it takes to succeed? His popularity is where W was post trying to privatize Social Security and Katrina.
“Democrats and Republicans agree on one thing: James A. Baker III was the gold standard when it came to running a White House. And so far he’s not overly impressed when it comes to the troubled kickoff of the Trump administration.”
Well remember, Baker was the chief of staff who was spying on Reagan before he took the job to be sure he wasn’t losing his mind.
While Nixon is the true Trump prototype in terms of Watergate-future Dem House may end up impeaching him-when you hear about Trump worrying his aides by watching tv all day it reminds you of what Reagan’s aides used to say-Reagan was disengaged, watching soap operas.
“In his first extensive comments on America’s controversial new president, the former chief of staff, campaign manager, diplomat and all-around GOP wise man offered a serious and substantive critique of the early days of President Trump’s takeover. His advice: Stop blowing up the U.S. relationship with Mexico, don’t expect them to pay for the wall, don’t act as “Israel’s lawyer,” don’t be an isolationist, support NATO and do a much better job of working with the other power centers of Washington—Congress and the Cabinet—before unveiling disruptive new policies like the temporary refugee ban. “The rollout here was deficient, we have to acknowledge that,” he says.
But Trump’s data driven. He made that decision through the accumulation of data, lots of data.
