Fewer FBI Agents Assigned to Russigate Than Hillary’s Emails
Again, they don’t call it Trumpland for nothing.
CNN: Fewer FBI agents assigned to Kremlingate probe than to Hillary email investigation. https://t.co/gnFMEr62eZ

As I’ve stated in previous posts I think Louise Mensch is on to something big on what you can call her Unified Field Theory of Russian Interference.
The one thing I disagree with her on is Comey. She seems to see him as almost heroically fighting for the truth on Trump-Russia. She agrees that the Comey letter swung the election and does see a conspiracy in how we got to the Comey letter.
A lot of people might dismiss what she says there as conspiratorial. But it all makes sense to me. Whether you want to believe that there are Russian moles in the NY FBI and the NYPD, it’s a fact that there was a lot of anti Hillary animus in those institutions; one reason being the outrage over Obama’s DOJ taking over the Eric Garner case.
My only disagreement is Comey. She thinks Comey’s hand was forced in the Comey letter but that he somehow deserves no responsibility. In my view we need an investigation of Comey, the entire email investigation-which already begun in the DOJ IG’s office before Obama stepped down-and we need a full timeline of the Anthony Weiner case.
What really happened? How did they come to acquire his laptop?
But I don’t think Comey is blameless. What his motivations were in releasing the letter need to be known. I can buy that his hand may have been forced. This is what the investigation would need to discover.
But as to Mesnch’s belief that Comey has been on this Russia thing like white on rice; I see no evidence of that:
“One source familiar with the Russia investigation resorted to a mathematical equation to divulge — sort of — the number of agents assigned to the matter.”
“It’s five to 10 fewer than were assigned to the Hillary Clinton email investigation, said the source, who is not authorized to speak publicly and did so on the condition of anonymity. There were about two dozen dedicated to that case, so that makes 15 to 20 on the Russia investigation.”
“The resources assigned to the Clinton investigation were in response to agents having to sort through a vast amount of electronic data in a finite period of time before the then-looming presidential election, the source said. With the Russia probe, there is no such time pressure and efforts are more focused on interviews with human sources.”
I find that explanation problematic. Why was it important to time the email investigation to the election? What was the election a factor at all?
And the Russia investigation actually begun before the election too. Why wasn’t there just as much urgency in that case? The whole point is that these investigations aren’t supposed to be political. Yet, Emailgate clearly was. There was an urgency to make sure Hillary didn’t get elected without figuring out whether she was guilty of something or other.
That shouldn’t matter in the least. If they saw an approaching election as a reason for haste how about a full legitimacy crisis which is what we have today?
I find this explanation, far from reassuring me, as being even more worrisome. We simply must have answers. We need to know our elections are on the level. This is the most serious Constitutional crisis in our history.
And the FBI sees it as just another case. But a minor email scandal lit a fire under their butts?
