Mike Pence Can’t Claim Flynn Deceived Him This Time
When Flynn stepped down after just 24 days as Trump’s NSC adviser-the shortest stint by far in US history-Reagan’s first NSC had the previous shortest stint and that was almost a year-the reason given was: ‘He lied to Mike Pence.’
That was the only acceptable answer as the alternative would be that Mike Pence himself knew that Flynn had been on the phone five times and yet lied about this in public. What Trump said overall about Flynn was rather awkward: ‘He did nothing wrong. If he hadn’t been on the phone working on overturning the sanctions the day Obama imposed them, I’d have told him to do so. But he lied to Mike Pence about it, so he had to go.’
Nobody lies to Mike Pence and gets away with it. But Pence is again being asked about Mike Flynn. The White House claimed that they didn’t know Mike Flynn was a foreign agent. On FOX News yesterday, Pence claimed that the first he’s learned that Flynn was a paid agent of the Turkish government was this week.
Mike Pence the guy who hates lies, told a big one. As head of the Trump transition team he knew perfectly well Flynn was a foreign agent.
“The candidate he was advising last fall was running on a platform of America First. The client he was working for last fall was paying him more than $500,000 to put Turkey first.”
“Michael T. Flynn, who went from the campaign trail to the White House as President Trump’s first national security adviser, filed papers this week acknowledging that he worked as a foreign agent last year representing the interests of the Turkish government in a dispute with the United States.”
“His surprising admission, coming more than four months after the election, raised further questions about the rise and fall of a presidential confidant who was forced to resign after 24 days in office for withholding the full story of his communications with Russia’s ambassador. Even now, out of government and out of favor, Mr. Flynn and his contact with foreign figures presented a new headache for a White House eager to move on.”
This is the same guy who was leading ‘Lock her up’ chants and accusing Hillary of pay for play.
“Vice President Mike Pence, who was upset that Mr. Flynn had misled him about the conversation with the Russian ambassador that got him dismissed, seemed less forgiving. News reports on the matter were “the first I heard of it,” the vice president said during an interview on Fox News Thursday night, “and I think it is an affirmation of the president’s decision to ask General Flynn to resign.”
But is this credible to believe he didn’t know? He was the head of the Trump transition team. If he didn’t know then maybe he didn’t do his job very well.
UPDATE: A Washington Post story makes it clear the Trump team knew in advance about Secret Agent Man Mike Flynn.

Something happened in 2015. At some point, folks, our country walked through the Looking Glass into Never Never Land. The Trump team is trying to hand wave this away.
‘Nothing to see here. So he’s a foreign agent. Let’s move on.’
The idea that having a foreign agent as a high ranking campaign official and then as your NSC is no big deal is truly Alice in Wonderland territory.
Meanwhile, the assortment of strange bedfellows in the Trump campaign keeps growing. Julian Assange who according to our intel agencies has basically been a Russian agent himself. One thing that Assange did a few years ago was release the emails of every woman in Turkey. Which makes sense-Erdogan considers every woman in the country his political enemy.
After Nigel Farage’s just happening to bump into Assange-at his embassy building-you wonder if Trump is setting up Assange to become his intelligence force much as he was Turkey’s.
I don’t know if you can find direct ties between Assange and Flynn, though who would rule anything out now in NeverNeverLand? After all, who knew there were ties between Assange and Farage? It turns out that UKIP and Assange go way back.
But Flynn and Assange both have served as agents of the Turkish government.
