Ny Republican Peter King’s Faulty Math on Trump’s Wiretapping Lie
King seems not to be great one for numeracy. Yesterday, he supported a dog’s breakfast of a healthcare bill slated for failure. Why you’d declare your support for something that couldn’t even make the floor while taking the health insurance of 24 million, taking away Medicare for 14 million, and taking away the essential benefits of many of the 155 million who get their health insurance from their employer insurance is King’s very special mystery trapped inside an enigma.
Now we have King saying both that Trump is wrong about his claim Obama was wiretapping Trump and yet Trump was ‘99.5% right.’
“Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” Rep. Peter King (R-NY), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, admitted after his committee’s review of President Donald Trump’s claim the Obama administration had wiretapped his transition team, he had a “legitimate case to make,” but said he may have overstepped with his Twitter claim.”
“[T]he president had a very legitimate case to make,” King said. “He overstepped it by saying President Obama ordered wiretapping. That we don’t know, but what we do know is to me this is shameful.”
“Host Bill O’Reilly pressed King on the seriousness of Trump being “surveilled,” to which King said it was at least 99.5 percent correct he was surveilled.”
“I would say, from all I know, you’re at least 99-and-a-half percent accurate, and probably 100 percent,” he replied.
Huh? You just said he overstepped it but now you’re saying he’s at least 99.5% and maybe even 100%?
Maybe this is the same flawed math that got him to support ACHA.
As long as King wants to defend the indefensible he also defends Devin Nunes bizarre leaks possible from Trump himself.
“Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said this morning he fully supports the decision by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) to brief the White House on “incidental” surveillance of President Donald Trump’s associates.”
“Nunes said on Hannity last night he had a “duty and obligation” to inform the president about the intercepted messages, which he said did not involve Russia.”
There’s a duty to inform the person you’re supposedly investigating about classified info before you speak to the rest of your committee? Nunes clearly needs to recuse himself. Indeed, as a Trump campaign and then transition official maybe he himself engaged in coordination with Russia.
As for King we in the NY 2 district have a message to the career politician: Don’t got away mad. Just go away.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
