Robert Keiner, Michael Fynn’s Attorney Is Evan McMullin Supporter
No one knows quite what to make of Flynn’s asking for immunity. For now it’s been rejected as it’s just too early to know if he knows anything that can’t be learnt elsewhere. Congress also wouldn’t want to do anything to ruin the FBI’s chance of prosecuting Flynn either.
And there is speculation that Flynn may be trying to jam the Senate Committee as Oliver North jameed the Select Committee in 1987.
“In 1990, a federal appeals court vacated three convictions against Oliver North, a former Reagan administration official who had been caught in the Iran-contra scandal several years earlier. Convicted of bribery, destruction of documents and obstructing a congressional inquiry, he received a suspended sentence. Those convictions were overturned, however, because North had been granted immunity for his testimony before Congress as part of its investigation into the scandal. While that testimony wasn’t used as part of North’s criminal prosecution, the court determined that it may have tainted the evidence that was included. In 1991, the convictions were thrown out.”
So the committee doesn’t want to grant it too quickly, and indeed, Flynn’s request has been shot down.
However, there’s another side to it that’s very interesting. Flynn’s attorney is not a fan of Donald Trump. He was an anti Trump GOPer during the election.
It looks like the attorney representing Gen. Mike Flynn isn't a fan of Trump. (That's him?)

“Last night’s immunity request from former Donald Trump National Security Adviser Mike Flynn is bringing with it a number of questions. Is Flynn – who appears to be guilty of perjury and unregistered foreign agent felonies in addition to whatever role he may have played in the Russian election rigging conspiracy – truly ready to flip on Trump in the manner required to get such a deal? And now here’s another question: why did Flynn’s immunity request come from an attorney who’s an expert in Russian studies, and appears to be anti-Putin?”
“Mike Flynn’s immunity request letter came from his attorney Robert Kelner. We took at Kelner just to figure out who he is, and here’s what we learned. According to his own LinkedIn page, he has a bachelors degree in Politics and Russian Studies (link). He even wrote his thesis paper on Leon Trotsky (we can’t locate the thesis itself, but it’s been cited as a source in this book). To be clear, this does not mean that Kelner is pro-Russia or pro-Kremlin, only that he’s a studied expert on Russia. Our research team has found no current or past connection of any kind between Robert Kelner and Vladimir Putin’s Russian government.”
“In fact, during the election, Kelner positioned himself as an anti-Trump Republican, and even accused Trump of colluding with Russia (link). Some of his recent tweets have also been generically anti-Putin. And yet Kelner’s client Mike Flynn is so deeply embedded with Russia that he was seen having dinner with Putin in Moscow during the 2016 election cycle, and his consulting firm was on the take from multiple Russian companies. So why is Flynn now using an anti-Putin expert on Russia as his attorney in his attempted immunity deal in the Trump-Russia scandal? We’ll keep digging. Contribute to Palmer Report“
This actually makes you wonder if Flynn isn’t ready to deliver. The one thing that was notable was when Kelner said ‘He definitely has a story to tell.’
Kelner may be politically opposed to Trump and is taking Flynn’s case as a chance to get the truth out about Trump-Russia.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
