Juan Williams-of all People-Says What We’re All Thinking
Of all people, in that he’s on Fox News. But he is saying something that we’re all thinking.
“In a development which truly signifies that hell has indeed frozen over, Fox News is now making the case that Republicans should apologize to Hillary Clinton. That message is coming in the form of an online op-ed from The Five co-host Juan Williams, who makes a compelling argument that in light of recent developments, the Republican Party owes Hillary an apology for the things it said about her with regard to classified information and her emails.”
“Williams cites the fact that Donald Trump’s own administration used James Comey’s mishandling of the Clinton email matter as part of the basis for firing him last week. He also cites Trump adviser Michael Flynn chanting “Lock her up” during the campaign, now that Flynn is the one who had retroactively registered as a foreign agent and is seeking immunity. And of course he points to Trump giving highly classified intel to the Russians last week, after having spent the campaign attacking Hillary for something infinitely less egregious.”
“Various Fox News pundits are still acting as Donald Trump apologists, and some of them are now doing their best to distract from the damning scandals that have been sinking him over the past week. But now that we’ve reached the point where one prominent Fox News personality is calling out the Republican Party for its treatment of Hillary Clinton, it’s a sign that hell truly has frozen over. You can read Juan Williams’ op-ed here.”
What’s funny is that after weeks where the anti anti Trumpers and the media mocked the notion of the Comey Effect, now Trump himself-at least based on the memo Rod Rosenstein released-has agreed that there’s a Comey Effect and it was wrong.
It is surreal that after there was talk of ‘Lock her up’ based on the possibility-that was never shown to be the case-that Hillary’s email server could have been hacked by the Chinese or the Russians-and Trump leading those chants-we now have Trump literally handing out classified information to the Russians.

Scott Sumner notes this too.
We were told that Hillary’s email problem made her unqualified to be President. Is that still true?”
I see Tom Brown got his piece on Erick Erickson linked by Sumner. Interestingly, Sumner’s post has led to 20 outraged comments by Major Freedom. That old Rothbardian Austrian econ fanatic who is against democracy and claims not to support Trump-his 20 outraged comments say otherwise.
Most of these comments are about Seth Rich. So-Tom Brown will appreciate this-Major is now being wound up by active measures. Right after the story of Trump’s handing over classified info to the Russians came out, Wikileaks and Julian Assange went into overdrive tweeting out conspiracy theories about Seth Rich-who supposedly was strangled to death by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz so he couldn’t tell us what he knows about the primary being rigged against Bernie.

The Rich family is begging a stop to this-but Major claims they’re the dupes of their spokesman who is a-DNC operative.
Major-and Assange-have interesting priorities in light of what we now know about Herr Trump.
As for Tom Brown’s link on Erick Erickson it’s very interesting. Sumner’s reaction:
“PS. Tom Brown directed me to this, which might be the single most negative report on Trump that I’ve ever read. Here’s just a part of it:
What sets this story apart for me, at least, is that I know one of the sources. And the source is solidly supportive of President Trump, or at least has been and was during Campaign 2016. But the President will not take any internal criticism, no matter how politely it is given. He does not want advice, cannot be corrected, and is too insecure to see any constructive feedback as anything other than an attack.
Then Trump wonders where all the leaks come from. More from Erickson:
“So some of the sources are left with no other option but to go to the media, leak the story, and hope that the intense blowback gives the President a swift kick in the butt. Perhaps then he will recognize he screwed up. The President cares vastly more about what the press says than what his advisers say. That is a real problem and one his advisers are having to recognize and use, even if it causes messy stories to get outside the White House perimeter.”
“I am told that what the President did is actually far worse than what is being reported. The President does not seem to realize or appreciate that his bragging can undermine relationships with our allies and with human intelligence sources. He also does not seem to appreciate that his loose lips can get valuable assets in the field killed.”
“You can call these sources disloyal, traitors, or whatever you want. But please ask yourself a question — if the President, through inexperience and ignorance, is jeopardizing our national security and will not take advice or corrective action, what other means are available to get the President to listen and recognize the error of his ways?”
I’d say they owe Hillary Clinton an apology-and that includes the media-particularly the NY Times.
P.S. As we saw in my poll out last week, the long awaited poll results are in, and right now I’m just 11 points down vs. Peter King (GOP-NY-District 2). And the voters don’t even know who I am yet.
There is nothing more important in getting answers to Trump-Russia collusion than a Democratic House in 2019. Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
