Want to Stop Trumpcare? If You’re From One of These 10 States, Call Your GOP Senator
Let’s not have any illusions, despite the theatrics, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are not going to save us from Trumpcare. Ignore all the talk about the four conservatives who are not won over just yet. Trump certainly doesn’t sound worried:
Adam Jenteleson, Sen. Harry Reid’s former aide, was on Lawrence O’Donnell last night. He warned that Trumpcare could be on Trump’s desk by July 4.
You have to give Mitch McConnell credit. As bad as the House bill was, the Senate bill is worse, and McConnell largely wrote the bill himself with his own aides.
Jentelson’s point is that if McConnell passes it next week as he intends then the House can avoid a conference by simply passing the Senate bill as is.
So these are truly desperate times. But what can we really do about it in the space of the next five or six days? Basically, if you live in one of the following 10 states, call your GOP Senator. If you don’t then call everyone you know in those states and tell them to call their GOP Senator.
Here is Lluba Gretchen Shirley-here from my NY 2 district:
1. Call all your friends in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and make sure they are calling their Senators! Indications are that the fight will come down to key Senators in these 10 states! Ask them to visit https://www.trumpcareten.org for more info to get to work!
2. Check out Indivisible’s Impact Map to see how much premiums would increase and how many people would lose health coverage by state.
If this terrible, awful, bad, very bad, no good so-called healthcare bill is defeated it will be by picking off three GOP Senators in one of these 10 states. Here are some suggested talking points:
This morning, Mitch McConnell will get up, drink a warm glass of human tears, & resume whipping his caucus. Fight AHCA. CALL YOUR SENATORS.? pic.twitter.com/am4Q9Tqlq3

The GOP has done the impossible:
New Kaiser poll:

Obamacare is now popular-for the first time ever it’s right side up in a Kaiser poll.
But this is certainly zero hour. Yes, this bill eviscerates Obamacare but it goes way beyond that-it eviscerates Medicaid. Yes it eviscerates Medicaid but it also largely eviscerates state funded government in general.
If there was ever a time to stand up and be counted, this is it.
Finally, I’ll put up Lluba’s point three:
3. Call King and remind him that his vote is to blame for this, that we hold him responsible for, and will remember his vote come Election Day.”
Speaking of King, I am running against him-for those who are not regular readers.
P.S. So the Gravis poll against Peter King NY2 and it has good news-almost too good to believe.
In my March poll I trailed King by 11 and thought that was very good news. Now Gravis has me up by 10? Still, the moment of truth is next week when Gravis writes up the press release.
I can use any help I can get at this point-volunteers or supporters who live in NY 2. Donations whatever your zip code. These days we can’t just support a local Dem we need a Dem Congress. Which is why I’ve donated few hundred to Jon Ossoff.
Please donate to help me in my part of the effort to fight for a Dem House-$5 or $10 can do so much.
If you feel that you can’t I, of course, understand-who is rich these days? But please do me one favor: ask yourself privately, mentally, if you really can’t spare $5 dollars. If you can honestly say you can’t, no worries.
We can have a Dem Congress, we must have a Dem Cogress, and we will.
Thank you. We must have a Dem House. And so, we will.
