As the Democrats Demand Franken Resign They Vote Against Impeaching Trump

Now let’s get to it:
All Aboard! Congressman Al Green got his impeachment bill to the House floor-despite Nancy Pelosi’s attempts to prevent him.
“House Democrats overwhelmingly joined Republicans on Wednesday to defeat an attempt to impeach President Donald Trump. But 58 Democrats supported the bid to consider impeachment over the objections of House Democratic leaders, who viewed the measure as a distraction in a Republican-controlled Congress.”
“The motion to sideline the measure — killing the effort — was approved 364-58, with four Democrats voting present.”
All things being equal, 58 is actually a pretty impressive vote for the first time-realistically it will take a few years until we have the votes to impeach.
But that most Democrats voted against impeaching Trump shows us one thing: they ARE capable of not rushing to judgment-if it’s a Republican accused of sexual assault.
So far we have seen:
1. Harvey Weinstein drummed out of public life
2. John Conyers forced to resign
3. And now 30 Senators demanding Franken’s resignation. According to a local Minnesota paper Franken will resign tomorrow morning.
On the GOP side of the ledger:
1. Trump is President
2. Roy Moore’s campaign is being funded by the RNC.
In fact Mitch McConnell had the chutzpah to demand Franken’s resignation while his party is funding Roy Moore.
3. Clarence Thomas-oh yeah, remember him? He’s only a Supreme Court Justice who in some ways wields more power than any President.
The Democrats voted him through in 1988 and evidently are still not rushing to judgement with him after 29 years.
4. David Vitter-remember him? The Senate GOP said he could stay as the accusations occurred while he was still in the House.
Almost all the Franken accusations were from before he was in office at all. But Dems WILL rush to judgment if its another Dem. Only GOPers get the benefit of the doubt.
But they are acting. They are cleaning house, and taking the issue seriously. Meanwhile, the GOP is rallying behind a child molester. The parties are not the same. 3/

Really? Have they been slow? It’s been a matter of weeks? How fast should it have been? Just one accusation and your gone?
Again with Clarence Thomas it’s almost 30 years. Is that a little slow?
To be sure Harvey Weinstein’s conduct was pretty clear. The stories about him were very well sourced. On the other hand with Franken it was very thin. We had little more than he said she said-which is why you have an investigation. How is that not taking the matter seriously?
Yes we Dems have proven we’re the morally superior party while the GOP gets to keep everyone. Is that a great deal? I guess for those who think virtue is its own reward.
I’m #MeToo & don’t doubt any other woman but the Leeann Tweeden-John Phillips-Roger Stone lies & set up of Al Franken were part of a larger smear campaign against Al initiated at the same time Leeann came out at KABC. I have proof. Leeann knows it. It’s a disservice to victims.

John Conyers was also set up by Mike Cernovich. Don’t get me wrong the story of his payments was true but that it was leaked by Cernovich-who has apologized for rapists in the past-is not a small detail.
In legal matters it’s not enough to prove something true you have to obtain this proof in a legal and legitimate way.
So no one has learned anything from the DNC hacks. In that case everyone responded to what was in it and didn’t worry about who leaked it or that it was hacked by the Russians.
NJ represented for over a year by a senator indicted (but not yet convicted) for taking bribes. But MN Senator Franken forced to resign without a hearing? Voters are sick of DC double standards and politics.

If come next week Roy Moore is headed into the Senate and Al Franken out, the two party system will be dead in Minnesota and perhaps in the entire USA.

I’m sure that will be the result as the Democrats keep up their policy as extreme severity in dealing with Democratic accusations and extreme leniency with the GOP.
“So stepping down would probably be the right thing for Franken to do. And the irony is that once momentum builds for a politician to depart, only the guiltiest ones with the least honor — like Trump and Moore — manage to resist it. If Franken does announce his resignation tomorrow, we may not have arrived at a standard that tells us what we should do with the next politician who is credibly accused, or the next after that, or the next after that. But at least we’ll know we’re moving in the right direction.”
In other words the people with the least honor will keep on winning. Which is why Trump is ‘President’; why Roy Moore is being funded by the RNC; why David Vitter gets to keep his job; why Clarence Thomas gets to keep his job.
We will be RULED by those with the least honor who don’t buckle without a fight like the Democrats always do.
P.S. I’m Mike Sax, I’m running for Congress in the NY 2nd District and I’m a Hillary Clinton Democrat.
Meeting her recently was one of the biggest honors in my life to stand next to such a fine public servant and trailblazer. She seemed to like our Impeachment Train campaign t shirts too!
Think of the shirt as a one time investment in restoring legitimacy to this country.
